Foods That Cleanse Your Colon

Foods That Cleanse Your Colon

Many people cleanse their colons to feel better, improve their health, get over gastritis or yeast infections and overcome illnesses. Systemic yeast is particularly troublesome as it emits toxins when it dies, and provides an environment suitable for parasites. There are a number of ways to cleanse the colon, but the easiest and most cost-effective way is by eating certain foods.

Raw Vegetables

Raw vegetables contain natural digestive enzymes which can help fight systemic yeast in the body. One can consume greater quantities more conveniently by juicing. This entails mixing vegetables in a blender and drinking them. Some raw vegetables that cleanse the colon include carrots, celery, red and green peppers, cucumbers, beets, radishes, kale, parsley, garlic and wheat grass. These vegetables contain many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can prevent cell damage caused by toxins and parasites. Raw vegetables can also help alkalize the body and colon. This can help stave off yeast overgrowth and create an environment that is hostile for parasites.

Fruits

Fruits also have digestive enzymes which can kill yeast in the colon. Fruits are also used to soften and flush the bowels. Fruits used in colon cleanses include pineapples, kiwi, papaya, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, plums and raisins. Fruits do contain sugar (fructose), and yeast does thrive on sugar, but it breaks down slower than processed sugar and is not as potent. Fruits can be mixed in a blender as well, or mixed with vegetables. They can sweeten the drink.

Cereals

Cereals can be highly effective in cleansing the colon. They contain high levels of soluble fibers. Some common cereals used in colon cleansing include oat meal, oat bran and cereals that contain wheat, corn and rye. People who have food allergies need to eat gluten-free cereals because, like sugars, yeast also thrives on gluten, a protein with a high glycemic index. Most of these products are made from brown rice.

Nuts & Seeds

Nuts and seeds can help cleanse the colon. They are also high in fiber. It is best to eat the raw and unprocessed nuts and seeds. Almonds, soy nuts and whole flax seeds are best for colon cleansing. Other nuts that can be used to cleanse the large intestines include hazelnuts, walnuts, peanuts, macadmia and Brazil nuts, pistachios, sunflower and sesame seeds, and coconuts.

Legumes

Legumes can also aid in the colon-cleansing process. These are foods covered with a pod. They are high in B vitamins and fiber. Some of the more popular legumes include lima beans, chick peas, black beans, soybeans, navy beans, black-eyed peas, split peas and lentil.
