Better choices for someone on a high-protein, low-carb diet would be eggs instead of cereal in the morning, wraps instead of sandwiches for lunch and dinners that focus on lean meats like grilled fish and chicken served with vegetables, which can be enjoyed in abundance. A careful eye on ingredients and nutritional information is necessary to curb the amount of carbohydrates that you intake on a daily basis.

    This diet is not perfect. Although it promises rapid results, it can also have some serious health repercussions. Remember to always consult your health care provider before you begin a new diet. A high-protein, low-carb diet can cause kidney failure due to the high amount of protein that is consumed while on the diet. Those who begin this diet might also move more calcium through their urine than the average person on an average diet, which can lead to osteoporosis, so if you already have weak bones, this may not be the diet for you. However, if you are healthy and your doctor gives you the okay, a high-protein, low-carb diet may be the perfect way to lose some extra weight.
